The jewel of Arabia, the wonderland of the Arabian Peninsula, the Sultanate of Oman owns the address of beauty. Even though this desert land is largely covered by high brown mountains and it has also been beautified with its lush green vegetation where lives a proud nation who possess a rich heritage and a glorious history of their country. The Sultanate of Oman is proud of its heritage and anywhere you go there are historic places embedded with remarkable stories. The monuments and picturesque forts across the country are unique and majestic. Beautiful white sand beaches for relaxing walks, an adventurous desert safari on sand dunes, camel rides, and the calming wadis all formed with history, and all have an impressive story to express. Muscat, the capital of Oman holds Majestic Palace, the Grand Mosque, and other architectures with many date palm trees along the streets and some seasonal flowers which are carefully maintained to add up the beauty to this elegant city. The second major city Salalah is enriched with fauna and flora rooted in the green land of the Dhofar region. This green region Mainly hosts thousands of local visitors and tourists every year, also plays a major role in cultivation and local farm products.The nation and the expatriates of this wonderland celebrated their 50th National Day on November 18th, 2020 recalling the marvelous milestones of its history by wishing their present king His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin for his solidary through the challenging time of the pandemic, and paying tribute to their past leader, the icon of peace His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said. From empowerment of individuals through education, health, and economic opportunities to the nation’s foreign policies, the Sultanate has maintained distinct mark under the wise leadership of late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin said during the last five decades. From July 23, 1970, to January 10, 2020, Oman and Sultan Qaboos were inseparable identity both domestically and globally. Late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos was born in Salalah on 18 November 1940. He was the only son to The Royal family of Oman. He received his school education in Oman. He entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, England at a young age. After graduation, he joined the British Army as a battalion. After his military service, He then earned his higher education in England. His Majesty Sultan Qaboos became the king of his beloved country as his father passed away. Sultan Qaboos had a clear vision for a modern, prosperous country and led Oman for nearly half a century and transformed it into the remarkable country it is today.
He prioritized cooperation and Peace and led Oman to join the United Nations, the League of the Arab States, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
With leadership and commitment, His Majesty worked to shape Oman as an active and responsible member of the international family. Under his supervision, Oman remained largely protected from the conflicts and troubles of the gulf region.
Indeed, His Majesty was well regarded for spreading messages of peace, understanding reconciliation far beyond his country’s borders.
Oman has consistently played a critical role in ensuring lines of communication and dialogue among disputing parties. Throughout his reign, His Majesty earned the respect of his people and those far beyond by having a clear vision for his country and by being an altruistic leader. He has passed on his legacy to the current leader His Majesty Sultan Bin Haitham as per his wishes. The light of Arabia, late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ knowledge, enlightened leadership is really an exemplary for the rest of the world leaders to follow.
